You Think Because You’re Prepared To

The things we do each day have built upon something that preceded it. Nothing just appears, as it’s all about preparation. You need to always prepare.

Even the thoughts you think are all thoughts you are thinking because you are prepared to. The ideas you get are ideas that you’re prepared to have. You’re mind is equipped with what it needs to think such thoughts.

To put this into perspective, it’s just another example of how everything reflects something else. What you do in the office, or out in the field; how you work with the people at your job or in your business; how you steward or handle your resources are all reflections of how you are handling something else.

Whenever you feel you are mismanaging a certain area of your life, or it’s starting to consume you and you can’t understand why then you can always take a step a little more inward to see what’s happening there.

Sometimes we find it’s how we’re managing or investing in our own home and family; sometimes it goes much deeper; as in our core self.

Either way, always remember that if you want to be the best you can be for this world then make sure that you are investing and managing well in all of the areas that feed your ability to serve this world.

The better the check-up in each area’s health, the better service you’ll give, and thus glory is given to something much bigger than yourself.

    Rob,
I’m reading “The Traveler’s Gift” by Andy Andrews right now. One of the first lessons is that we are who we are and where we are by there decisions we have made.

I think this ties right into what you’re saying here. We are who we are and where we are by how prepared we are to make life’s decisions.

We can prepare by reading, learning, seeking counsel, and surrounding ourselves by “good” people, people that are already living the kind of lives we want to live.

    Thanks for the post!

Rob I am BIG on preparation – in all areas.  I realize we can get stuck when we spend so much time there and never take that next step of action.  But for me that preparation step is very important.  You are right in that it happens automatically.  God always prepares us in some way for what He has planned next.  I’ve seen it so often in my life. I prepare by reading, listening to teaching, researching and speaking to people who know more.  Even Chapter 1 of Today’s the Day is all about preparation – spirit, soul and body!

Thanks for sharing that book Michael! Everything we do is preparation, and it’s our choice to set ourselves up for the opportunities that are coming our way anyway. We’re either ready for them or we’re not.

I know you are, Ann! Getting stuck tends to freeze our ability to seek out the next step. You just reminded me that it’s by pursuing the next step that will draw us out of the mud. Tomorrow’s post will share with us that we need to stop putting out fires and prepare for tomorrow. Tomorrow will put out the fire for us, if we prepare well.

Great advice!  Whenever I get frustrated at work, home or just with a circumstance – I really try to remind myself to look within.  Very rarely can I lay blame on another person or thing.  If I have prepared myself adequately, I can handle anything that comes my way.

I can ask: How have I conditioned (prepared) myself to think this way?  And then, how can I prepare myself so my thinking and actions will be raised to a higher level?

Good stuff Michael. The questions you ask are great reminders for handling tough situations.

How have you been able to create that habit for yourself? That sort of natural reminder you have… Many times, people get into heated situations and sometimes are not thinking about their thought process, except to satisfy the ego. What can you share that would help me and others develop the habit of reminding ourselves to look within when crossing those dark zones?
